Have Questions About Pricing?
Here are the most common questions about carbon fiber materials, pricing, custom options, and formal quotes.
- Your information is safe and secure.
Carbon fiber rods are solid sections. If your application requires a hollow profile for lower weight or internal routing, a carbon fiber tube is normally the better choice.
Pultruded rods contain fibers primarily aligned along the rod length, providing high axial stiffness and strength. Roll-wrapped rods can use multiple fiber orientations, giving more flexibility in how the mechanical properties are designed.
The correct diameter depends on the span, load, support conditions, and allowable deflection. Increasing the diameter greatly increases bending stiffness, so provide your application details if the rod will carry a structural load.
Carbon fiber rods can be bonded into metal or composite fittings using suitable structural adhesives. Inserts, end fittings, sleeves, and machined connection features can also be used depending on the load and assembly method.
